What is Lot Tracker
Lot Tracker is a web application born to meet business traceability needs.
Lot Tracker is easy to use but it is also very powerful. It is a tool particularly suitable to small/middle business that need to respect laws on traceability, but do not use and do not want to use management software integrated with warehouse management, expensive in money, complexity and time required for a correct use.
How does Lot Tracker works
Using Lot Tracker is very easy. In order to speed up production lots insert, Lot Tracker uses a template driven approach, in other words user defines product templates he needs to track, that is raw material / half-processed required to get that lot.
First of all you have to define your template production.
How can I define templates
To define new templates, get into “Template” section by its button on navigation bar on top.
A list of defined templates will be shown. You can easily search a template, inserting its id and/or its name in the search bar.
Select “Add new template” to crate a new one. Name of the new template will be requested and guided procedure to define template will be started.
Select “Add product to template” to add a product/component of template composition.
What is difference between defined product and undefined product?
Procedure adding a product to template, allow user to choose between 2 options:
- Defined product
- Undefined product
Difference between 2 options, is that while first one allow to select an already defined product, second one will ask required information to define product you want to insert into template.
It is preferable to use first solution when you want to reuse same information for a product used in more templates, in order to avoid to re-define them every time. Furthermore you can modify product information in a single point, having them automatically updated in every template using that product.
It could be for example lot production case. If you have a component used in more templates, updating its production lot id (last lot id), it would be updated in all templates using it, saving you from insert it every time you create a lot from that template, but having your correct value already filled up.
To define new product to use in templates, get into “Products” section by its button on navigation bar on top.
It is preferable to use second solution when your product will be used just in that template, or when user has just few templates and don't want to waste time in product entity definition.
You can also use a mixed approach, that is you can use both defined product and not defined. Is up to you, choose your best way that match your needs.
In product definition process, only name is a mandatory field. Provider and lot id are optional information. If you define them, you won't need to insert them every time you create a lot from that template, other way it will be requested in that phase.
Every information defined into template could be overwritten in lot creation phase.
If I delete a template, all lots created from it will be deleted too?
No. Template delete do not implies lots defined from it deletion.
Template delete is final and cannot be restored.
Track production lot
To add a production lot, get into “Lots” section by its button on navigation bar on top.

A form containing all products data defined in that template. Modify data or fill missing data. If you want to remove a product from just that lot (and not from template), remove all values from that product row (also product name).
